Task: Add library websites to your blog

 Check these library websites:

  • School Library Association of Victoriahttp://www.slav.schools.net.au/ I thought this would be a great site because I am in the school industry.  I looked at the tabs for professional development and resources.  There were topics specific to school libraries like promote your library, challenged books and weeding guidelines. What I did not like about this website was some of the links did not work and the information on the homepage is very small to read.
  • State Library of Victoria - http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/   This is such a fantastic site for all ages. What I like about the library is what it has to offer but also the building itself.  Such a historical building located in central Melbourne. It is well worth a look in the reading room, and the dome.  I recommend you take a tour.
  • Yarra Plenty Regional Library ‎- www.yprl.vic.gov.au/‎   A local  library which is customer focused with easy tabs to access information throughout the site. On the homepage there is the catalogue search, news, the new titles are listed. The advanced search function include geographic regions, audience, language and many more.
  • Toy Libraries Australia -  http://www.toylibraries.org.au/ I wanted to put in a website that had a different collection.  Toy Libraries  provides with the opportunity to play with a wide range of quality educational toys. The aim to educate parents and carers on the value of play through all stages of children's development. The website has basic information about toy libraries and the option to find a toy library close to your location.
  • Australian Library and Information Association  - www.alia.org.au/  I like this website because it has up to date and relevant information for librarians by librarians. What I like is the homepage is visually interesting and  you can navigate your way around the webpage easily.
This is my local library I like to visit when I am at uni. I like to call in and have a look at the new novels and magazines.  This library offers magazine access through Zinio.
